Inspiring Black Creatives

What unites us is what makes us different

Our Mission

We are Tones and Shades. What unites us is what makes us different what sets us apart is who we are.

Our shades may look different at first, but our unity is in our shared struggle. Like the humble beginnings of young rivers, our tones take strength from patience and determination - ever flowing, ever growing in pace and size. Equality in the creative industries is a dream for the future and we exist to make that future now. We represent black creatives who are powerful, bold and fearless in life and in their craft.

Our Practice

Our goal is an equitable community for black people in creative industries.

Our work is to unearth the untold stories of up and coming and established talent, celebrating creatives of colour who strive day after day to hone their craft.

Our hope is that by sharing these stories we can inspire each other and the next generation of black creatives.
